When one thinks of Adam Road food centre, nasi lemak, kambing soup and prawn mee automatically come to mind (for me at least). That’s what put this food centre on Singapore’s hawker map.
I had a craving – again – for prawn mee and given that the offering at Adam Road is the most proximate, that’s where I went to get my fix.
To be honest, the serving was less than expected (considering I paid $15 for the bowl pictured), the prawns were smaller than I would have hoped for and the stock seems to have slipped somewhat. The great thing though, about stalls like these, is that even though standards may drop, they objectively remain decent. It’s just a pity that the delectable taste of old truly seems like a thing of the past, like a lost heirloom.
